Located on Buffalo Street (Route 62) between Pleasant Avenue and Union Street, this lively library is nestled in the village of Hamburg. If you are looking for a great film collection, preschool story hours or a comfortable place to catch up on the daily news, the Hamburg Public Library may be the place for you. 

Our parking lot entrance is located on Union Street near the Buffalo Street intersection.

Free WiFi. 21 public access computers plus 6 laptops that can be checked out for use within the building. Networked printing is 10¢ per page B&W and 25¢ per page color. Copy machine at 25¢ per page.

The Hamburg Library has a meeting room that can be available for community meetings. Please complete the following application and return to the main desk.

Book Clubs at the Hamburg Library

Director's Book Club:

Meets the third Friday of every month at 11:00am. Please join us for a great discussion. The list of upcoming books are as follows:

Friday, February 16 at 11am - "A House for Mr. Biswas" by V. S. Naipaul. Please see staff for a copy.

Lapsit with Miss Ashley: Wednesdays at 10. Saturdays January 6 and 20 at 10. Ages birth-2.

Storytime with Miss Chelsey: Fridays at 10am. Ages 3-5. 

Preschool Storytime: Mondays at 10:30 beginning January 22. Ages 3-5. 

 

Special Events:

Family Movie Night: January 5, 6:30pm. Craft and a movie! Registration Required.

Page to Screen Movie Night: January 8, 6:30pm. Watch Glass Castle!

LEGO Club: January 13, 1-3pm. Make a LEGO creation! Registration required.

Dress up Your Pet Day: January 14. Share your photos of pets wearing clothes on our Facebook page, today only! Look for the Facebook post @HamburgPublicLibrary and post your photos as a reply. 

Dragon Storytime: January 16, 4pm. Celebrate Appreciate A Dragon Day with us during this special storytime! Stories, crafts and activities, all about dragons! For ages 3 and up. Registration required. 

Library Board Meeting: January 16, 6pm. 

Director’s Book Club: January 19, 11am. A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway. Copies can be picked up at the desk!

Cookbook Club: January 19, 6:30pm. Visit the desk to view the cookbook and select a recipe. Prepare the dish and try others, potluck style!

Phoebe the Reading Dog: Sunday January 21 from 12-1. Read a story to Phoebe the Reading Dog!

American Red Cross Blood Drive: January 22, 1:30-6:30. Please sign up to make this event a success. Go to redcrossblood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) for availability. All presenting donors will receive a $5 Dunkin' Donuts gift card. Walk-ins are welcome.

National Handwriting Day: January 23. Visit our station in the library to experience the lost art of handwriting. Write a love letter, a story, a journal entry… the possibilities are endless. 

Poetry Club: January 25, 6:30pm. Share your original poetry. 

Learn About Braille Books!: January 29, 6:30pm. A storytime using Braille books with activities designed to illustrate daily challenges with low vision. Ages 5 and up. Registration required.
