Ongoing Spring Events

  • Book Babies - Tuesdays @ 11:30am from April 3 to June 5.  For newborns to 21/2 year olds.  Join us for rhymes, songs and stories!  Please register.
  • Toddler Time - Tuesdays @ 10:30am from April 3 to June 5.  For ages 21/2 to 31/2.  Treat your toddler to some songs and stories!  Toddlers must bring an adult lap to sit on.  Registration required.
  • Preschool Story Time - Fridays @ 10:30am from April 6 to June 8.  For ages 31/2 to 51/2.  Prepare your child for school!  We'll be doing stories, games and crafts!  Registration required.



  • Elma Book Club - Wednesday, April 18 @ 6:30pm.  This month's book club selection is A Farewell to Arms by Ernest Hemingway.  All welcome to this fun and lively gathering.  Light refreshments will be served.  Please register.
  • Iroquois Central Schools Art Show Reception - Monday, April 23 @ 6:30-8:00pm.  Join us for the annual Iroquois Central Schools Art Show reception.  Stop in anytime between 6:30 and 8:00pm.  No need to RSVP.  
  • Iroquois Central Schools Art Show - April 23 through April 27 during open library hours.  Come see the art on display all week!
  • Elma Cooks! Elma Public Library Cookbook Club - Saturday, April 28 @ 11:00am.  Join us for our monthly cookbook club!  Meet fellow foodies, cookbook enthusiasts and wonderful people who will enrich your culinary interests.  This month's cookbook is Brunch @ Bobby's: 140 Recipes for the Best Part of the Weekend by Bobby Flay.  Sign up by stopping in or by calling 652-2719.
  • Computer Class: Organizing Files & Folders - Monday, April 30 @ 6:00 – 8:00pm – Pre-registration required.


  • National Children's Book Week Party! - Wednesday, May 2 @ 6:30pm.  For kids of all ages.  Meet children's author Matthew Fredricks, who will tell us his story of how he wrote his book The Boy Who Couldn't Sit Still.  Kids are welcome to bring their favorite book to share!  Fun and snacks will be provided.  Registration required.
  • Sit, Stay...Read! - Saturday, May 5 and May 12 @ 11:00am to 12:30pm.  For kids ages 5 and up.  Sign up for a 15-minute reading session with a specially-trained therapy dog!  Paws for Love will be here with some furry friends for this kid-friendly reading program.  Registration required.
  • Teen Book Club - Monday, May 7 @ 6:30pm.  Ages 11-17.  For May, share a book you love with us!  Join us for lively discussion!  Snacks will be provided.  Please register.
  • Library Fun Club: May Magic! - Wednesday, May 9 @ 6:30pm.  For children in grades K-3.  Join us for magical stories, games and crafts!  Please register.
  • Intro to Etsy with Vanessa Lauria - Friday, May 11 @ 6:30pm.  Free and open to the public.  Learn how to create a shop on Etsy, the popular e-commerce website focused on handmade and vintage items.  Space is limited.  Please register.
  • Battle of the Books Informational Meeting - Monday, May 14 @ 6:30pm.  For kids entering grades 6-9.  This is an informational meeting.  Are you a good reader?  Love to compete in trivia questions and work as a team?  The Elma Public Library is looking for kids just like you.  Any interested persons should ask to sign up for this year’s Battle or talk to Ms. Kate about what it’s all about.  We give you the books and you read!  You can’t win it if you’re not in it!  Call to register or just show up!
  • Elma Book Club - Wednesday, May 16 @ 6:30pm.  This month's book club selection is In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware.  All welcome to this fun and lively gathering.  Light refreshments will be served.  Please register.
  • Family Movie Night: "Wonderstruck" - Friday, May 18 @ 6:30pm.  Rated PG.  Join us for a free viewing of the film "Wonderstruck" at the Elma Public Library!  No need to register.
  • Elma Lego Club - Saturday, May 19 @ 1:00pm.  Ages 6-12.  The theme for May is "Create What You Like".  We'll have prizes too!  Bring a friend along!  Please register.
  • Adult Coloring - Monday, May 21 @ 6:30pm.  For ages 18+.  Join us at the Elma Public Library for a relaxing and fun evening of coloring and creativity.  All coloring materials will be provided.  Registration required.

Book Sale Donations

Gently used books in good condition will be accepted during library hours.  Please no text books, Reader's Digests, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, or cassette tapes.  Donate used books at the Elma Library, at the corner of Bowen & Rice Road or call 652-2719.
